I was born & raised in Austin, Texas - so I do know GOOD bbq...but sadly, NYC is struggled (at best) to provide it.
Brother Jimmy's is my favorite so far. I haven't tried Dinosaur BBQ - but I hear they're pretty good. Hill Country is a bit of an atrocity as far as I'm concerned. They purport to have "authentic Texas bbq", but it's definitely NOT anything close to what you'd actually get anywhere in Texas...ESPECIALLY Central Texas.
As a Texan (that title will never change
I would love to hear any other ideas about bbq here in NYC.
ps - if any of y'all are in Austin looking for good bbq, DEFINITELY go check out County Line BBQ on the Lake (
County Line Home). SERIOUSLY amazing stuff!
