Homemade Holiday Gifts??

Our family has been moving away from the consumerism of the holiday season for the past few years and trying to give more homemade or locally produced goods such as homebrewed beer & wine, canned veggies and sauces from our garden, various useful crafts, etc. Anyone have any good ideas for homemade gifts?

You homebrew? Not sure if you do grain brewing or not but here's a bit you can do for the pets in our life. You can do it for your human friends too.
Spent Grain? Make Your Best Friend Cookies! - Home Brew Forums

I plan on trying this after my next batch.

My wife and I canned about 35 pints of pre made apple pie filling and put bows on them. We made huge batches of apple pie and then just canned them. Took most of a day and it we had some friends help. We bought local apples to do it.

Bottles of homemade hot sauce made with peppers and veggies from the garden.
22 oz bottles of our Christmas Ale.
Knitted items...hats, sweaters, scarves.
Things made from felted wool.

Happy holidays!

It is too late for this year, but next year, we are talking about a gift pack with a bottle of homebrewed red and white wine plus a sixer of barleywine.

I've seen etching kits to make your own personalized wine glasses and/or mugs. Just google up etching kits. They are pretty cool and you could really get creative.
