Hey, wouldn't it be nice if Hudson Valley Peiple had their own subforum? Since none of the little towns are large enough to demand their own subforum, it would be a good cluster for those of us who enjoy the Hudson Valley.

Hit up the request page. See the stickey in this forum.

I miss the Apples from the Valley. Best I've ever had.

I agree that the entire Hudson Valley Area needs its own subforum. I used the link in the sticky to request "Hudson Valley Area".

As to the whole upstate thing - growing up in Orange County, the way it was explained to me was that anything north of the imaginary line created by the northern border of Pennsylvania was "upstate", anything below, but still north of the city was "downstate". Never thought much of it, but have heard it a few times in the last couple of months.

I'm in Carmel, NY. Not within 15 minutes of the Hudson but still considered Hudson Valley.

That's pretty much how I've always believed it to be. And I tend to chuckle a little when them city folk say that the suburbs are "the country".

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think they are frankly quite surprised when I show up to work in the big ole city without my overalls or chewin' on a piece of straw.

I am about 60 miles to the Hudson but I consider myself the Hudson Valley, I am just over into the Catskills but I do all my driving to and from the Orange county area. Mostly Middletown and New Windsor.
