Medora is nice for hiking.

I can't count how many times I have been to the medicine hole, that's where I grew up.

When hiking in ND, is there anything one should keep an eye out for?

I'm due north of your state (MB), my wife is new to backcountry adventures, so I would hate to lead her into viper territory or something simply because of assuming a neighboring state would have similar flora/fauna to where we live.

Thanks in advance!

If you are in western ND, during the summer you will need to watch out for rattle snakes. They are not the most common, but they are out there. To be honest, I haven't seen one for a few years, but my mom killed one while hiking last summer (with her concealed carry pistol)
