I really like these two. Again, the picture splicing program was used. Unfortunately the date stamp was turned on, so you can see where each splice is at. This is the "Painted Canyon".

Just curious what a naturally occurring unstable area might do? Crumbly cliffs? Quicksand?

The badlands look pretty interesting. Although I grew up in MN I never saw NDAK till I crossed it in May of 2005 being chased by a snow storm.
I was unprepared for so much treeless EMPTY. I definitely didn't expect high desert through Montana, Idaho and much of Oregon. Guess I'm a tree hugger too long to adapt to flat & empty.

I did take one picture in NDAK. It was at a rest stop.
