Our house (not a home anymore)

OK everyone, here is a little tour of what used to be our home, but is now just a building.

Here is a shot of the outside. No, that is not our bathroom, just the old toilet from the bathroom we just finished remodeling a few days before this happened.

Here is a good shot of the water level on the garage.

Here is our living room:

Entryway: (you couldn't imagine the smell of sewer and mold)

Bathroom: (It looked slightly better than this after the basic remodel)

The front yard:

The front yard again, this time from the basement:

I'm truely sorry to see this. Do you have flood insurance?

We do not have flood insurance, as this area was declared by the federal government to NOT be a flood zone. I think the numbers were something like only 10 percent of the homes flooded (about 5000) had flood insurance.

I'm aware flood and earthquake insurance is extremely expensive. Since I do some construction, I would immediately pull the lower 1/2 of the drywall ASAP before the mold gets much worse. Let her air our, install insulation and new drywall, and you'll be good to go.

Drywall is not my concern right now, as the basement is collapsing and the house is falling in on it a little bit.
