My original mentor swore by sugar pine for carving. If you want to have a gloss coat on pine or cedar seal it with a few coats of shellac and then apply gloss.

I got a great weekend without the wife and kids, and some serious pain in the brain, but it was worth every second. One of my sons also gave me a Spring 09 mint issue of Naked Eye hand signed by my favorite Montreal porn star Bianca Beachamp

I don't know where my son comes up with that stuff. One night he spent hours in a bar chatting with Russell Peters, and didn't realize it till later when his friends told him who he was having all the laughs with.
