I don't wear hats often. I used to be a kitchen manager in another life so I had to all the time.

This is last place I worked at. I was there 3 years. I had multiple hats, this is the one I wore while in the kitchen (actually working). It smells like grease and sweat and represents a time in my life I'm proud of. I hang it in the offices I work in as a reminder of what I left. One dream left for another.

It's seen a lot of blood and sweat. It stayed with me for three years.

Managers had a specific hat they wore, it was beige, I never changed out of my cook hat. No matter where I was I wore it as a point of pride.

It still has dried pizza dough on it. I'll never wash it.

My Tiley is really ratty after 25 years or so without a wash, but it's still comfortable and keeps the rain off my head.

The balaclava with the gay pom pom is over 50 years old. Good wool
