Could be any number of things.
Just Google "NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error" and start reading.

Harddrives fail but I never saw that particular screen before. If your operating system is on a failed drive you need a new drive and a reinstalled OS.

but...... this week is the time of a hacker contest I understood to be about shutting down certain browsers. Just for that reason I wouldn't completely rule out malware.

How do you know about hacker contests that are going on???
