the sp's on base here (keep in mind they arent deployed) are working panama 16's. 16hour shifts for 3 days straight. its no wonder those guys finish their first enlistment then bounce...
I would like to say I feel sorry for them but I can only say I understand their pain. We were 18 hour days out to sea. In port, we generally had it easy for the first month after we got back. Then refit started and we planned to tear the boat to pieces. Long hours writing tag outs turned to longer hours when the boat got back. I am not BSing when I say that the nukes would work 12-18 hour days, for 40-60 days straight, no days off. But the overtime, man that was....wait, there was no overtime haha. Going to sea was a welcome break at first.
Yeah. I love how it takes about 10 signatures to get me to have one day off. But it takes no signatures to make me work late. Ahhhh, thank you Marine Corps, you are so caring...
I'm out boys
