Hot steam? I do sometimes miss watching my breath freeze (but it passes).
That steam was coming from cooling tower at a power plant just north of our city. There just happened to be no wind that day also, so it kinda looked like a nuclear explosion from a distance.

Old PPL would put out steam clouds but nothing like that. I do not like towering clouds of unidentifiable nature.
Grew up in MN but that's like sunny Baltimore compared to Calgary. I've almost forgooten what frozen nasal hair feels like.
