I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of that new puppy Joel!
And the garden. We didn't do any veggies this year except the perennial asparagus, horseradish, rhubarb and the like. We did do some herbs, but mostly just expanded the perennial flowers.

Well, here's the pup and the garden. The pups name is Dozer, because he loves to doze off after he's played hard....he's chewing on the AFLAC duck..lol
Here he's with my Lab and Siamese cat, the cat thinks he's a dog, hence he is tied up, he has no claws so we don't let him wander....
I like the tongue pic...lol
The pup is 3.5 months old, ruled by his nose. We suspect that he's got some kind of hound in him. Good pup though, house trained very quickly...my wife thinks he should have been named Beauregard...
OK Alex, here's some garden pics.......first up is my asparagus patch, which will be separated next year into two patches.
This is my little corn patch....
Cucumbers and stuff....
Standing on my picnic table.....I live in a small town,btw...
That is a really good looking pup you got Joel! I can't imagine someone just dumping it? Have you confirmed it has not been microchipped?
Yes, we took him to the Vet. a couple days after we brought him home, had him scanned, got his shots and a little bone shaped pill that kills all internal parasites. He's a funny pup, loves to wonder around sniffing everything, then takes a nap....

Thanks Alex, yours looks better tended than mine though. In some of the pics you can see vegetation growing between the crops, that is purslane, totally edible, peppery tasting health plant. We don't eat it (my brother in-law does ) but allow it to form a living mulch.
I like your pic with the steak and potato on the grill.....
About 2 months ago, during a hike along the Allegheny river, I came upon an actual snapping turtle breeding site. I know this doesn't sound very exciting, but when I first saw it I was amazed at the number of snappers that were there. I didn't have the camera on the first trek, and went back 2 weeks later, not as many, but still quite a bunch.
Needless to say, I kept my distance, look at the pics, there are several in the water, on the log and on the banks, look closely.....I wouldn't want to swim or wade in that area...lol
Last weekend we took our Lab and the new pup on a boat trip on a creek, we also had a Yellow Lab pup with us (sister in-laws pup). First, the Lab pup slipped off the bow and fell in, flailed around and got hauled into the boat. My pup "Dozer" fell over the side trying to watch the commotion, he started to swim towards shore, I called to him and he turned right around and swam back rather fast, which surprised me because he's still rather clumsy. He swam right over to me and I hoisted him into the boat. We still don't know for certain what breed he is, but he's very good in the water and didn't freak out.
The next thing we have to do is teach him to stay away from these guys....
