That looks like a really nice river to paddle!
Borislav, do you have canoes in Bulgaria or does everyone just use kayaks?

Alex … no any problem to do a nice bike tour some day in BG. For now, I have a free time 12.07 – 28. 08.
But what about canoe voyage, I am not sure if it would be nice along Iskar river. The river is not as big as you see in the photo above. It is just behind a 10 meters high wall and small electricity station in front of it.
I have not any experience of canoe or kayaks, even I do not differ both them very well. In Bg it is not popular. If here we are 10 people practicing biking, maybe 2-3 are these knowing more about sailing in the rivers.
There is a better river for it in BG – it is Struma river (I have posted here a photo – I am in this river, it is very clean). After Zemen town to Greece border it is maybe possible – it is a distance approx 120 – 130 km. There are 3-4 very very nice gorges along this river, in one of them I know people enjoying of rafting – it is a distance of no more than 12-13 kilometers. I think May and June would be nice for it, when the snow in the mountains is melting and there are much water.

But what about bicycling – here is the perfect place. No problem to invite with us Joel and Mark, never mind Mark has mentioned he has some problems with his knees … I think it would be great …
One more photo of Iskar river gorge.
