About the snail meal now ? I have heard from my grandma that in the hungry years during the IIWW they boiled them with spinach and some other plants like it. Of first they put snails in a corn flower for 24 hours, so the sand in it to be parted. A delicious meal was if there was a little rice ? after boiling 2-3 hours the snails were cut in small peaces and baked with butter or sunflower oil.
The dish in the photo was prepared by one my friend. He boiled snails for 2 hours, after fried them in butter adding black pepper, fresh onion and a specific plant I can not find in my dictionaries ? mint maybe, I am not sure in this word. But he did not know to leave them in a flower for 24 hours, so there were peaces of sand in it.
I can say it is not possible to eat more than 5-6 snails ? it is a heavy meal and the consistence of it was just like a rubber ? Never mind, for surviving it is perfect.
