As RiponredTJ above said, just ask him. Does he like photography? Get him a nice camera. Does he like to read? Get him a Nook or similar reading device. Does he like working on cars? Ask his friends what tools he needs (footnote...I have quality tools, one year my daughter bought me some plastic junk tools from Harbor Freight, will never use them!) Guys like electronic gadgets, cool tools, and things for our cars (especially jeeps!).
