Blucher: some one said on one of the post,( Rival?) that" I see the intelligence , the mind and not the body." I have to agree.
In that nursing home not one of the wheelchair people were reading, knitting or even focused. They were just meat waiting for the end. About a mile from that home lies the nut house where "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" was filmed. Being nuts may be a blessing since you furnish your own reality. Those old folks need someone to steal a bus and take them for a boat ride like Nicholson did. I don't think the LAW would be that upset with me.

My great grand mother on my mother side lived to 106. My grand mother on my mothers side lived to 98. My grandfather on my mothers side lived to 96. My great uncle on my mothers side lived to 105. My grandfather on my dads side lived to 102. My dad is 98 and going strong.
Not all these people lived "clean" lives. Actually the wildest ones lived the longest. None of these people were physically or mentally impared at the time of their passing. They simple went to sleep and didn't wake up. Also, as far as physical appearance goes, it was is if they stopped ageing somewhere in their mid 50's. My dad for example has friends in their mid 70's that look 15 or so years older than he does.
I figure that with the gene pool I've been graced to draw from that I'll at least make it to 110. Maybe longer with genitic enhancments.
I figure if I make it past retirement and get to enjoy it for a few years with no major issues along the way, Ill be satisfied. Living FOREVER? Not my bag...
Forever would be a stretch for sure, but I'd be quite happy to live in a healthy body for a few more hundred years just to see in which direction everything on the planet actually ends up heading.
But it would be nice to have an off button in case it gets boring or crazy.
