It's worth it. If you bring peanuts, the Raccoons and Squirrels with come up on your deck and take them from your hand. It's a great place to go with family, kids love it. There is also a small animal museum on the property housing live animals to interact with. Pretty cool.

southeast Oklahoma. Broken Bow essentially

Wonderful mountains, trees, water.

Some of the largest trout in the states have been caught there.

There is a place that you can drive up to the bottom of the dam where the water is about 300 foot on the other side. The water pushes some power turbines from what i was told and it comes out of there cold and fast, its fenced off with tree stumps that you can stand on to fish over the fence, HUGE walleye, large mouth, and trout from what i hear. I didnt find the place until my last day when i just happened to drive by it. I caught 3 real nice large mouth and a very nice walleye. It is awesome out there and well worth it to rent a cabin if you get the chance.

Best of both worlds since your wife thinks its romantic and there is fishin to be done

Been there and it is a good place to go to get away for a few days. Fishing and just hiking are both good.

I ride my KLR650 in that area. I have been to almost every state and eastern OK has some of the best scenic views.
