Spice Thai (not to be confused with the bad chain Thai Spice) in Lake Forest. Awesome food.
I would pay $30 a plate for their food and it's like $10

I haven't seen a French Restaurant posted yet, but Pescadou Bistro in Newport Beach is authentic French food (owner/servers are French) in a comfortable yet romantic setting, and the prices are fair for the cuisine type. It's also one of those lesser known type restaurants. Highly recommended.

Tip: They have a "blackboard menu" which is a 2 or 3 course menu in the $24-29 range. Wednesdays they have a "no corkage" special, so you can bring in your own bottle of wine for no charge.

Welcome To Pescadou Bistro

Casa Inka

Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Casa Inka Peruvian Cuisine | Home of the Lomo Saltado

This is some really good Peruvian food. The service is a little slow but the average plate price is about $12.00.

Habana

Cuban style that is a KNOCK OUT!
Wednesday night is really busy.
Parking sucks because it's in The Lab.

Second Slaters 50/50. Hands down the best burger I've had in recent memory.
Great brews on tap as well.

Sushi Wasabi in Tustin. one of the last great sushi bars. The owner/chef is japanese, as his wife, who serves you. you sit down and you get omikase. the fish is fresh, delicious, masterfully prepared... mmm. good stuff.

So much more comes to mind, the list would be ginormous. Orange County is finally starting to shy away from over processed fast and crappy foods and alot more independent's are popping up and opening shop. This is a grood thing!

Also try Valhalla Table in Costa Mesa for quality sausages and sandwiches with awesome micro brews.

Another vote for Slater's 50/50! Great burgers, and the sweet potato fries with their pumpkin dipping sauce are awesome.

The cat in the custard cup in la habra is phenomenal! Everything from rack of lamb to steaks... Just awesome! Their wine and beer selection is plentiful, and the service has always been great! Definitely check them out if in north oc!
