How many remember the Laguna Beach Greeter? - Orange County, California

I remember as a kid, we would walk down to see him daily. He was always standing on the S/W corner of PCH and Brooks Street, and it you visit the Pottery Shack (now a restaurant), there is a huge statue of "The Official Greeter of Laguna Beach."

I do remember a "wanna be" that was there for a few years, but haven't seen him around in years.
