You haven't been to Cougar in a while, closes at dusk, don't get a ticket,
there's 2 camp grounds about 2 miles away, or across the lake if you have a boat..
they rebuilt the spring pools pretty nice and big, still a great spring

We have camped in the area campground a few miles past Cougar and it was very nice. Drove our '77 VW bus in over a 4" sheet of ice after a day of snowshoeing once, great memory.

You can't camp at the springs. But there is a campground just up the road from the parking area. I've camped there before, it's nice.

You have to pay to park. It's a 2 or 3 dollar fee per vehicle I think.... Not sure how you would define hippy hollow, but there are usually some naked hippies hanging out in the springs.. Would be a good day to be there now, as it's about 32 degrees here at the moment..

Hippy Hollow was a camping area near the springs that no longer exists. You are not allowed to camp near the springs, the nearest camping area is about 5 miles away.

They are technically called Terwilliger Hot Springs now. They are out near Cougar Reservoir off of Highway 126, which goes between Eugene and Sisters.

Cougar Hot Springs (Terwilliger)
