While you are checking out the history don't miss the old Bumble Bee Cannery out on Pier 39 and stop by Coffee Girl for some great coffee and eats. There is a Rouge Pub there also. It's at the far east end of town but you won't want to miss it, if you like great coffee shops.

I like visiting Astoria in the spring and summer months during the farmers market.

I have never heard of Voodoo donuts, but the repetitive replies I've been reading is making me want to drive to P-Town and check em out!

I also got to plug Crater Lake and Silver Falls...

If you are heading to Newport for the aquarium, hit up the Rogue brewery on the way and at the very least have a great meal, even if you aren't a beer fan.

Hot Rod Grill in Florence is awesome. The food and service is amazing, and the booths are made out of real '30s-'50s era hot rods!

Dig up some Oregon Sunstones outside of Redmond, OR. A lot of fun and a unique gemstone found primarily in Oregon.

If you are down south I recommend crater lake, amazing place. The coast is amazing here too, very rocky coastline that reminds me of some places in Ireland.
