Hmmm, kinda a no brainer. We have ocean, mountains, forests, deserts, basically all the natural ecosystems you might like to explore. And the cities are great too, lots of fun places to visit, Portland, Eugene, Bend...or go to Crater Lake, explore the Three Sisters wilderness, Multnomah Falls, Coumbia Gorge. Give me a reason not to visit Oregon.

Newport has an outstanding Aquarium and kids do sleepovers inside it. NOAA is moving it's West Coast Headquarters to Newport too.

If you study the small map of the Missoula Floods you understand Oregon was carved by volcanoes, tectonic plate movement and ice & water. A drive through the Columbia Gorge gives you a good idea of the forces at play.A visit to the John Day Fossil Beds is not unlike going through a time capsule plus it's beautiful.

No one mentioned beer. Some of the best beer in the world is made in Oregon. Pretty good wine too.

REEDIT: Go DUCKS!!!!

This man was lucky enough to have been born here. At 60 I packed a van in PA to move here for the same reasons he lists. On arrival I discovered much much more and 6 years later I'm still stunned by the beauty.

[his only error was his preference for mangy beavers (nutria with flat tails) ]
