i have the s&w m&p 9mm it is a nice pistol and is light enough for my wife to shoot. i have had 0 jams and i even can use the cheaper aluminum jacketed shells with out any problems.
Uh... That's not a Glock barrel in that Glock frame... That's a KKM barrel... If you're going to insinuate that Glock sucks, at least show Glock parts blowing up.
(Also, I love my G26 subcompact 9mm, and sorry, I'll stop fanboying now.)

Ok if you want to argue the difference between a 9mm and something larger like a .40 or .45 here are the big and simplified differences.
A 9mm can hold more round and because it is a smaller round it had a faster velocity so it has better penetrating power but sacrifices stopping power.
A .40 or .45 are pretty much on the other end of the spectrum they are a large slower round so the have great stopping power but lesser penetration.
You have to think of what you are going to be shooting at, if it is just a target pistol then go with a 9mm the rounds are cheaper, but if it for personal defense then I would go with a larger caliber such as the .40 or .45 simple because of the high stopping power and less penetration because you do not want that 9mm round passing through someone if it comes to that and hitting someone else.
And by the way my uncle has a Ruger .40 and it is an excellent pistol.

This definitely rates about a 9.0 on my weird-sh*t-o-meter.
I was under the impression that aluminum cases are softer than brass. How exactly is the extractor damaged more with aluminum? Steel, I could understand.

Just like Speed is a question of Money--How fast do you want to go??
Same with Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, other Large/Small Bore Weaponry--How much destruction are you seeking??
If ya just wanna go plinking bits in the woods, get a small caliber and have fun however a .22 will travel a mile.
Used to have (in the early 90s) a Daisy .22 Rifle. Weird Rifle yet it was fun.
We have 2 Pistols: S&W .357 short, great kick.
Star .45 Auto., --a wannabe 1911 copy--Italian nuttiness, will jam for no reason, 6 rd clip, nice kick.
Both use Hollow and Blunt Point.

Well not to turn thi into a 9MM vs ??? arguement, but my wife took all my 9MM pistols and she loves them, I only carry .40 and .45, except when I am in gym shorts then the 380 is my pick, but always have a .45 in the car for back-up. But ideas like this are like a**holes, evrybod has one.
