I'm from Lancaster but never tried Speeds. I'll have to give them a shot one day.

you NEED to be drunk to enjoy pat's, geno's, or jim's. j/k

when in philly, head to roxborough and visit Chubby's. the best in the city. in the northwest burbs, go to Via Veneto's in Norristown. it doesn't get any better.

I've been to Pat's and Geno's.... both good. Next I need to try Tony Luke's.
Great.... now I want one. Guess I'm going to have to settle for making one. Can't drive the 4 1/2 hours right now. LOL

There's a place called Gio's in Woodland, PA. It's pretty close off of I-80 in the west/central part of the state. One of their billboards says something like "best cheesesteak this side of Philly."

I haven't tried it yet, but my friends say their pizza and sandwiches are really good, especially for being in the middle of nowhere.
