Good read and a BBC special

Came across a nice blog. Click here.

She talks about show animals and how we've bred the actual dog that once was, out of the dog. Watch the video. Or at least have it as background noise. It's appalling that these breeders are okay with breeding a grandfather with a grand daughter. It's disgusting that these breeders have bred dogs beyond repair. Look at the pictures of breeds 100 years ago, versus now. It's horrific what we've done to some breeds. Mainly pugs, boxers, king james spaniels, bulldogs, and german shepherds.

Breeders even openly admit to putting puppies to sleep for not meeting breed standards. UGH

Pretty disgusting. Anytime someone see one of my wife's Chihuahuas they tell about their "teacup Chihuahua" which is no less than a dwarf Chihuahua with health problems and birth defects. The average Chihuahua is 6 to 10 lbs and is the smallest dog breed in the world. Now people want them 3 to 7 lbs. Ours are "too big to show"

Yeah when they inbreed dogs or anything for that matter too much you get genetic fading and hence genetic diseases which if left up to nature would not survive long enough to breed due to either phenotypic or genotypic defects from such breeding practices.

The old woman who owns a bar I frequent has these tea cup Chihuahua dogs and to keep most of them alive she spends mega $$$ at the vet. I think it's not only stupid it's cruel to the creature.
