Squirrel Hill

I was looking at real estate in Squirrel Hill online. Are there houses of worship in that area? How about synagogues and churches in that area?

I would love to move back to PA.

Denver

You will miss Denver. My son wants to move to Denver when he graduates college. Pittsburgh is nothing at all like Denver. Not saying Pittsburgh is bad, it's not. But outside of sports teams (Pirates are not a sports team, they are just tenants/minders in the Leagues best stadium), Pittsburgh doesn't stack up to most major metro areas. They could, but it will take a couple of generations of new leadership and vision, coupled with major infrastructure improvements (not 300 yard tunnels under the river!).

There is a fantastic biking community in Pgh. Lots of great local shops, good clubs for both road and off-road cycling. Check out Dirty Harry's in Verona when you hit town.

Leaving Pittsburgh

You should check out Leaving Pittsburgh, Stories from people leaving the Greater Pittsburgh region of Pennsylvania. first. There are a ton of stories about people leaving the city.. some stories are about them returning also. Pittsburgh is a great place to live, but like anyplace it has it's problems. Check out the site and get some insight before moving here. Hope that helps!

Just remember, Pittsburgh is cold, cold, cold. Also you will probably never see sunshine. Pittsburgh is the gloomiest city anywhere.
