Ski bowl is fun, and cheaper than the others, but you just can't beat the size and variety of terrain at meadows. Timberline is good if you're a beginner or low intermediate level boarder, but if you've been doing it for a while I think you'll be disappointed in their terrain. It's very flat and not much diversity, but their lodge is amazing.

When the snow level drops below 4000 feet, ski bowl is awesome for snowboarding. Great night skiing. Pretty cheap to go at night during the week. Nice steep powder lines.

Meadows - heather canyon area is the best bet most of the time (when its open) lots of steeps and plenty of face shots when the snow is fresh. If the snow level is low enough and its cold enough Ski bowl has some pretty awesome terrain too.
