Nice knowing I wasn't the only guy who struggled with his spouse. We'll be celebrating 20 years this November!

Not at all. If it was easy this sub forum would not exist.

In my time with my old lady it has been anything but easy. We have our love for each other
and that gets us through a lot. I have to say the hardest part is finding a common ground
on some things.

Keeping similar interest as well. I've been trying to get more into things she appreciates instead of my nerdish pursuits.

It's hard.

When one spouse gets a long term illness, this can really be a challenge too. This is where I'm at. She just got medicare and that has helped a great deal, but it's still rough.

yeah we have been trying also. she is a ballroom dancer and I am a mechanic.
Talk about opposites attract I tell you.

I have started taking dance lessons which is fun sometimes and a good workout
and she helps me get parts for my Jeep so it works.

I got married at 17....he was KIA by the time I was 19. I'm 61 now, and all my dreams went down the drain with him. Even though it was "till death do us part", we only had 1 year and 8 months of married life. A wish to have never met him is not an option.

As the song "The Dance" by Garth brooks goes....
"I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance"

Mine is getting more into art. My stick figures are terrible.

I'm sorry to hear that. I too am grateful for knowing those I have lost, regardless of how it ended.
