I live in Quincy in 2002. I remember Pangaea Cafe was the best place for food and beer. The have lots of Stone Brewing beers on tap. I believe Greg Koch from Stone helped start this cafe in Quincy.

Camped up near Kettle Rock/Taylor Lake some years ago before the Moonlight fire. It was beautiful. If you are looking for camping isolation you can find plenty of good spots. I haven't been back since the fire so I don't know how badly the surrounding area was touched. I know they lost a historic cabin at the Lucky S Mine. Taylor Lake is a jewel but as a previous poster said, there is private property throughout. It is best to pay attention and of course leave no trace.
