The most famous trail on San Antonio is Devil's Den, but it is off limits as of a couple of years ago. There are a bunch in the Hill Country. I have heard of one by Medina Lake, but I emailed for information and was told they are closed until February (hunting season).

I'd like to hear more about Devil's Den. Where's it at, why off limits, private property? Are there any unpaved public roads that are in the middle of nowhere and provide a descent drive? I'm not looking for a flat dirt road leading to a farmhouse.

Devil's Den is in the Leon Creek basin behind Ingram Park Mall. It used to be privately owned and they did not mind off roading. It is far from a flat dirt road.

The city started to purchase the land a few years ago and has declared it off limits to wheelin.

They will level a $50-$100 fine when they catch you. And the will catch you.
