Not counting them out for the playoffs yet. Chargers record is the same or better than the last few years at this time and they have made it.

Sorry but no we dont, and neither of these are Pro teams, they have yet to win the big one. Close only counts in horseshoes and thats what these guys might as well be doing. The family wants the team in LA anyway let em go.

Are you personal friends with the Spanos family? If not, then where is your information coming from?

I've never heard them say anything except that they want to stay in San Diego.

I agree, there is a lot of circumstantial evidence that says otherwise, but that's just that. Circumstantial.

As far as the argument that the city doesn't need a pro sports team, I relate it to an argument I once heard regarding publicly funded art.

You may not agree with this money being spent in this way, but there are many things that the government spends it's money on that I don't agree with. It's called compromise. There are plenty of people that feel that it's VERY important to have a pro sports team in their city. It doesn't make them right or wrong. It's the way they feel.

Economically speaking, it makes a lot of sense to build a new stadium.

Ummm they have said we want a new stadium or they will leave. Its no secret that Jr wants the team in LA, bigger market.
Spend my tax dollars on infastructure and safety. Arts, sports or any of that crap you can get people with coin to pay for. Our Company / CEO just gave the city millions for a library downtown.
Less wasteful spending on stadiums means our tax rates can be lower which means we can spend more money whcih also means another new short use stdium is pointless. We have one paid for in Mission Valley, its fine, its called common sense over compromise. I would rather have 4 wheel off road racing back in SD but it aint gonna happen any time soon. Should tax payers pay for it, no.
Economically speaking, it makes sense to enforce the laws of the state and for that matter the nation, not build a stadium for a family who can afford to build their own.
