Ramona has some great trails

As mentioned before, the Iron Mtn and Mt Woodsen hikes are nice. But google the Ramona Devil's Punchbowl while you're at it. After these rains we had, the waterfall into the punchbowl is a site not to miss.

Look for Jerry Schad's excellent book of hikes: Afoot & Afield in San Diego

Available at all SD City and County libraries

Jerry Schad is the writer of the Roam-O-Rama article in the Reader, but most of the time the hikes are up in the LA/OC area.

As mentioned, Iron Mtn, Stonewall is a GREAT hike with a great view. We do that one every X-mas morning. Mission Trails is great, and right next to Cowles.

I remember going on a hike that we found from Roam-O-Rama off of Wildcat Canyon. It was fun because it was a part of the county that I never remembered going to before.

I'll see if I can find directions...

edit: Oh wow! Here's all you need right here (unless you get Schad's book)
