My wife and I have recently found Sendo Sushi in Pleasanton. The sushi has always been good, and the staff is very friendly. They are able to make most of their rolls with brown rice (my preference) and have $1 beer on some week nights.

I don't usually venture too far from Pleasant Hill, but Nama sushi on N. Main right at the entrance to 680 in Walnut Creek is pretty cool. Low key, never too busy, and good food.

They have one roll with the Seaweed salad on it that is super good.

Amakara

I've heard some complain about the prices or that this place is overrated, however I have always gotten stellar quality rolls an nigiri at Amakara. Grilled edamame is a must and fried shrimp heads may not be on the menu, but I have seen them served...

Cheers,
D
