Hollister is okay for day trips and the trails change considerably with the weather, so there's enough variety to justify return trips.

I thought clear creek was still closed. If not, when did it re-open?

No way, they closed Clear Creek? To all off road or just wheelers?

I was just at the Hollister BLM office yesterday. Clear creek is still closed and by the sound of it, it will be permanently so. However, you can still legally drive through the main road and up spanish to the county (Fresno County) line. They told me the main road was a mess and muddy as hell!!

To all. Only the main road through and spanish are legally open to travel.

Was the asbestos the reason Clear Creek was closed? Left California 18 years ago and I didn't think they would ever close it. The place was always empty. How are we supposed to go see the B-17 wreck sight now?
