Local Census

Okay, I realize 78666.com has posted an actuall population number with and without SWT students, and somehow it's a little hard to believe. Has anyone got a decent source for the latest count on what our fair town is bulging out to?

Pop this !

Yah dude, well it was 34,000 in 2000, so it's prolly 38,000 now. Isn't that exciting it just keeps growing , and growing, and growing.

growing pains

:::thud:::

40,000 people...jeeeuzzzz....I thought it had been that when I moved down here. Hell, just the number of "new homes building permits" was almost 3000 since 1998. That doesn't count the number of "multi-family dwelling permits" applied for over the past 6 years. Pretty soon the San Marcos River will look more like a huge tube-chute than a spring fed river.

Okay, ::::taking anti-pessimistic medicine:::, ahhhh.....dark beer calms even the most ruptured thoughts.

Well, anyway, if anyone has good hard number to coraborate 78666's posting, lemme know.

Well there is a sign posted when you enter the town at 123 and wonder world. I don't know how current it is, but I think there is at least 34k I doubt that includes the college population.... maybe we could ask city hall. They always seem eager to please people.

Good idea Jaed. Maybe they have it posted on some hidden city website that we can find? Anyone up for the challenge? Find the information?

FYI...

Also, i have a formula that is farely accurate in predicting the populations of cities...just u're basic exponential growth formula....tried it out and it was accurate for the year 2000 population of SMT...off by 3,000. So..if i can only find that formula i can give u a much accurate pop....
