Support your IH35 Corridor Saints!

Tom Benson wants to move the Saints to San Antonio. Local officals are supporting him, with many indicating that the best home for an NFL team would be north of San Antonio, along the IH35 corridor. Wherever they end up, if you want an NFL team nearby, this is your chance to show your support.

Tagliabue has said that there will probably be some games in San Antonio next year and I have heard that he will be at the Alamodome on the 24th. We need to be there too.

I've got my tickets, do you?

The game is at noon on the 24th. You can bring the whole family down and still be home in time to leave cookies and milk for Santa.

Word on the street is that there are about 12,000 tickets left. Get yours now and show your support! There are no club level seats left, but there are some on the lower and upper levels. $30-90 each. Just got to ticketmaster.com and get some.

What better early Christmas gift could there be than some tailgating and a live football game at the Alamodome?

Wear black and make some noise for the Saints!

Stealing the Saints from New Orleans is just wrong. Their fans have stuck with them through thick and a whole lot of thin. It's not New Orleans fault that the Superdome isn't ready and probably won't be next season. If Rita had blown down Reliant would you want LA trying to steal the Texans?

Efforts to move the Saints to San Antonio were in place long before the hurricane hit. Last spring, Benson was talking about paying a penalty to get out of the New Orleans lease at the end of the 2005 season. He has never made it a secret that he has some level of interest in relocating them to San Antonio and this was a central issue of Hardberger's campaign when he was elected mayor, also last spring.

Is the city supposed to wait and "steal" them after the city has recovered? Is Benson supposed to go through another season of "home" crowds of under 35,000 people at Tiger stadium?

This is the team we were pursuing and if we stop now, we will likely not get another opportunity to get a team. The city of San Antonio did not begin the pursuit after the hurricane hit, they started it when they built the Alamodome in 1993, to try to win an expansion team. There are no more expansion teams. The only way to get a team now is to get one to move.

If you want ANY team to move here EVER, this is your chance to show that central Texas can support a team.
