Best non-chainy non-touristy places to eat in savannah.

Rancho Alegre: Skirt Steak, Tamale, Pulled Pork -wash it down with Pacifico or Presidente

Taste of India: Mozzarella Kulcha, Schrimp Akberi - wash it down with Taj Mahal or King Fisher.

Bella's: Tortilini, antipasta salad (worlds best bread sticks)

Let me throw Green Truck Pub on to the mix too. Great new place on Habersham just north of Victory Drive. Great burgers and a nice, tight craft beer selection. It has gotten tough to get in though...very popular in a very short period. Go on off-hours...late lunch or early dinner.

Moon River

I like the microbrewery and restaurant - MOON RIVER,
Only locally brewed beers in Savannah (comercially available)

The menu has many selections, and you should never have to leave hungry.

Ditto ... and every Wednesday they have a cask of real ale! Last night's was a cask of spiced cider. Mighty tasty.

My favorite is something not even on the menu ... the Bubbadilla. It's a quesadilla made with Angel's BBQ. Andy's BBQ rocks!

The King and I - best Thai food around
The Schnitzel Shack - German and Thai food (up in Rincon). Pretty good beer, too. The owner's great
Vinnie van Gogo's - This gets a litttle more tourist business but they have the best pizza in the area

+1 for Vinnie Van Go-go's, some fantastic pizza. I worked there for a couple years during college, NEVER got sick of eating it.
