Is it really that bad? I haven't been there in a while but Katy Mills used to be a good place to go. I like Bass Pro and there was plenty for the wife and kids in the mall.

Landry's restaurant on the Peoples Street T-head is nice. There's a dinner cruise off the same pier as well, but I've never taken it. Water Street Oyster bar is good too.
