places to visit in coastal SC
Edisto Island and Hunting Island are two of my favorites. Edisto is not touristy at all and there are many places there where you won't see anyone.

camping ideas
I would mention too that Lake Jocassee is a very nice place to camp as well as the Dupont state forest. There are multiple waterfalls at each and the hiking is great.

Reasons to visit South Carolina
I can think of a good reason once it gets cold and that is that here in South Carolina, the weather doesn't get that bad in the winter. I have had some years where I have worn short sleeves in...
