I just ready the same article. I was doubtful at first, but they did give credit that the "distance" is a lot longer than what anybody anticipated.

If you're anywhere near the east side, Pauly's in Lowell has a great beer selection. Additionally, the wine and liquor selections are equally huge.

Battle Creek is good. For novice or intermediate riders, the trail along the north bank of the Minnesota river is always a good choice. It's accessible from Lyndale Ave, I believe.

I've lived in La Porte County for the last 5 years. I agree with the opinions on Gary. Is there any other major industries in the area besides steel, corn, and soybeans?
