Favorite Camping Foods

My favorite is the hobo pie.

We had one on a Scouting trip when we were kids and now we take a pie maker on every trip. I like to fill them with Dinty Moore stew, but the ones with pie filling...

It depends on the food, imo.

I like Crystals instead of McIlhenneys any day. Chef Paul Prudhomme has one that has garlic and other spices - which is simply the bomb on eggs!

This is a Danish recipe traditional holiday, if I remember.... :)

1 gallon burgundy wine
2 or 3 small/medium oranges
6 to 10 cloves per orange...

Beer Opinion :)

Racer 5, a hoppy west-coast ale by Bear Republic is one of my favorites. They've upscaled a bit and now you can find it in places like BevMo. Stone Brewing's Levitator is similar, if a bit hoppier.

MoreBeer and other websites have starter kits, usually in 3-4 price ranges. Sometimes the stuff the kits include are not necessary, but do make certain tasks easier.

I prefer 6 gal. glass carboys...
