The Isle of Palms is a great overall beach to visit. Good sand, good food, great lodging, and close to the city of Charleston. The off season is perfect for those who want to avoid the crowds. Just be cautious that the local police will strictly enforce all the laws.

My daughter goes to College of Charleston, and my girlfriend and I spent a week at Folly Beach this summer. It was superb! We had a house on the beach, and it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. No crowds, and lots of fun!
