Attractions in Deadwood South Dakota?

Is it just old west hype or some real interesting points of history?

Deadwood at night is alot of fun. Calamity Jane / Wild Bill Hickock's cemetary is surreal. Went out there for Halloween and it was an absolute riot. There's tons of actual historic things to see if you're into that sort of thing though.

The city is historical, but is now a Mini-Vegas, but the food sucks (Except for the Supper Club). Free beer while you gamble though. If you are passing through the area, it should be on your list. But I wouldn't vacation just for Deadwood. The Black Hills are beautiful this time of year, or any time of year.

If you check out deadwood, I would first watch the HBO series, it is very historically accurate. not 100% but close, then you can really appreciate the history of this mining town.
