It seems that it may already be in consideration for the Olympics:

Yes, there already is a lot of talk and push for pole dancing in the Olympics and to be recognized as a sport. That's the reason I started this thread. I personally think the reason it'll be such a tough sell is because there are still so many people who think it is a strip club "activity" and they don't see what pole dancing has now evolved into.

Even if you read through this thread you can see that there are people who don't get it and that's absolutely fine. Why should they when pole dancers for a sport are still such a minority for pole dancing in general. I don't care though. All I know is I love pole dancing and given all the other activities I am involved in, pole dancing tops my list for fun and challenge. I'll never make it to the Olympics but I sure hope it gets there someday then everyone will finally see what I am talking about

Adventure

mtngirl; Ma'am, I have watched several ''gals'' working on the pole. For me; to see the strength and grace. wow weee. I haven't any misconception about those with grace n beauty. These ladies reminded me of the 'cirque de solea spelling atheletes.
Keep showing up and telling me about this new adventure

*ugh*... Yes people do it to "exercise" or to turn on their man or whatever but its not a sport. I don't care who says it is.. its not.
Hey, I never thought that golf was a sport but that's a whole other argument.

I always thought that anything requiring a certain amount of strength and agility was a sport.

So even good strippers would qualify as sport in my books

But when you go home at 2:00am and your wife ask you, "where have you been" and you say the sporting event had went into overtime and she asked, "oh yea what sporting event" and you reply, "the strip show down at the Bada Bing" she may not agree with you that it is a sport.
