I am not big on Fishing but my buddy is. I know he is always going to the salmon river which is actually pretty close to syracuse. I know they are always pulling some steelhead out of there. Hopefully a search can give you a more specific location. Good Luck and HTH.

I don't like to fish either but my brother takes off all of October and November to go to Oswego everyday to fish for salmon.

depends on what you are fishing for, if you looking for salmon ~ salmon river + steelhead, if you looking for bass, more Oneida lake and other lakes, its really what comes down to preference and what your looking for

Oneida Lafe has some fantastic bass fishing due to the shallow waters and lots of structure. In fact they have bass tournaments there every year. I also love Lake George for bass, but you have to contend with the motor boat fury while you are there. I like to kayak, so while it is fun for me to ride the waves rodeo style, the wife doesn't approve in the main strech.

I agree with the above posts, it all depends on what you want to fish for.

Cayuga is great for some perch this time of year. Personally I spend most weekends on the salmon river
