I don't remember where I first read of Tampa's notoriety in this area, but here are some reports I just googled:

Well for two reports on Google for as big an area as we are I'd hardly consider it notorious. I'm sure it goes on to some extent in any metropolitan area.

Wow, I have never heard of this happening in Tampa at all. But then again, I guess I've only lived here for about two years now...

Great now when you google "FL child prostitution" this thread is the first one listed making it look like Tampa does have a problem!

We did have a human trafficking incident hit close to home... at the Country Super Buffet..
But I would not say that is representative of this area, it is representative in any large metropolitan area where everyone does not know everyone else or their business..
