Homework in elementary school

How much homework should an elementary third grade student have?

I have read between 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 each day.

What is your opinion, on how much homework and time should be given.

Thanks

If the homework is not meanigfull, they should not have any. Homework needs to have an element of learning value. My wife is a professor in a School of Education of a university, and she teaches the future teachers to only give homework, if it is meaningfull. This means, some days there might be an hours worth of homework and on other days there shouldn't be any.

I don't remember any of third grade.

Also, you probably shouldn't be on here if you're in third grade.. and your parents should probably be watching your internet activity better... just saying
(but props for good spelling, capitalization and spacing)

Elementary school is K-5, right? I'd say, then, that it depends upon what grade in elementary school. Third grade? Just my opinion, but if it's routinely less than 30 minutes or more than 60 minutes I'd say it's out of whack.
