Flat Screens

My huge TV, the last of it's kind likely, is about to give out. It's been taking longer to warm up, it has to warm up.

What make and model Flat Screen do you have and do you like it?

I have two, a 50 inch DLP I picked up as a closeout and my monitor is a TV/monitor combo. Both are Samsung and have gorgeous pictures.

From almost day one the 50 in. had a problem with turning off. I thought it might be the nature of the beast and initially this was an easily solved issue by hitting the "on" button.
Over time this became a possible heat issue so I added external fans to cool it. As of yesterday they rarely help at all. I'm going to try to open & clean what I can in hopes of a cure.

I frequent thrift stores and see almost brand new LG TV's more than I should.

I have last years 55" Samsung 1080P 60Hz LCD and it is an absolutely amazing TV.

I also have 3 a year old 60" Sony Bravia 1080P 55Hz Big Screen and actually the picture is better than the Samsung BUT I can't hang it on my wall so I don't like it/use it as much. Been thinking about ditching it.

I also have a 32" Vizio 1080P 30Hz Flat screen for my bedroom that I'm not very happy with. I've also been thinking about ditching this TV but I want to replace it with a Samsung.

Great feedback guys. It gives me hope I can get my Samsung fixed. Hopefully it's a sensor or something similar.

Good to know Vizio isn't a cheaper alternative too. One thing Austin will love is that startled feeling you get from how dang sharp the picture actually is. Things like the closing ceremonies at the Olympics or 4th of July fireworks are simply incredible.

I have an older Panasonic 42" 1080i Plasma.

I love it.

If I were going to buy a new tv right now. I would really have to look at the Sharp Aquos with the 4 colors (Really only because Sulu is selling it).

Must of the new tvs are 3d as well. Not sure if I want to sit at home with glasses on to watch CSI.....
