Ice and Snow, the Texas Response

I was watching Super Bowl coverage this weekend, and was surprised at how often the fact we can't drive in ice and snow came up. I want to clarify so that there is no misunderstanding.

No we can't drive in it. You don't want us to either. I have lived in Texas my entire life, I have never driven on ice, never will, I know my limits. I think most Texans feel the same way.

I have also never seen snow fall that lasted longer than a few hours, and sure have not had enough to have to shovel, build a snowman, or have a snowball fight.

So, for those surprised a little ice shut down DFW, don't be, we aren't.

I don't think they could have dumped anymore sand in every intersection.

It was like they didn't know how much so they opted to dump a truck load in each one.
