Anyone cross into Nogales lately?

Has anyone gone to Nogales lately? I am wondering if it is really all that bad now or if the Nogales i knew is still there. I used to love to go over to eat and drink. It was the best boarder town around.

The last time I went was end of August and it seemed the same as always just no Americans on that side.

I don't really understand why anyone would want to run the risk going there at this point. Unless you are in the market for some really crappy knives, fireworks, or unvarified medication I don't really see the purpost. Anyway, you can pretty much get the same kind of crap at the Swap Meet and you don't have to spend the money on gas.

Just go to the southside...oh wait, it's been cleaned up and looks nice now. A few years ago we were down there with our friend and she almost got kidnapped.

Most of the beer and alcohol that says it's imported from Mexico comes from Chicago. The rotgut in Nogie is pretty much the same as well liquor, just put into premium bottles. If you get a chance, pick me up a gold Folex - mine stopped working.

I still haven't been to the donkey show...

I could not agree more, WheelMatt.

As far as I'm concerned . . . the negatives far outweigh the positives and just not worth the risk.

On another note, does anyone know wtf goes on at the Swap Meet on Friday nights. I had to drive past there the other day and there was a line of cars a half mile long waiting to get in. What the hell is so awesome that one would wait so long to get in?

Why would you want to go to Nogales. There are so many good places to go to North of the Southern border.

I'm not allowed to travel on ground within the first 50 miles of the Mexican border without super high up approval, so I really couldn't tell you.

I did used to enjoy driving down to rocky point though and spending a nice weekend on the beach.
